Exosomes have unique physicochemical properties, such as their ability to pass through tissue barriers, mononuclear phagocytic cell systems and certain targeting properties (Marcus and Leonard, 2013) when carrying drugs, and they are often used as therapeutic drug delivery carriers in medical aesthetics.
"The essence of human aging involves the aging of cells. Cell aging is due to the accumulation of damage that induces the activation of cell cycle inhibition pathways. Cells permanently exit the cell proliferation cycle, and cellular aging has permanent cell cycle arrest, reduction of NAD+, apoptosis resistance, aging-associated inflammatory cytokine secretion, and altered metabolic and epigenetic signatures (Kirkland and Tchkonia, 2017). Exosomes often contain biologically active proteins and genetic information, all of which play an important role in delaying cell aging (Liao et al., 2021), such as inhibiting the synthesis of related aging factor-β-galactosidase (SA-β-Gal) (Kim et al., 2021), and inhibiting skin photoaging (Gao et al., 2021)."
Exosomes are growth factor and signalling molecules that can be used to stimulate the hair follicle cells. Further, Exosomes help initiate tissue regeneration and repair, also stimulating improved blood flow to the scalp, so stimulating hair growth.
Results have been achieved with conditions such as frontal fibrosing and androgenetic (male) alopecia, scalp psoriasis with secondary hair loss as well as other thinning problems. (Using Exocobio ASCE + HRLV) Results may be variable from person to person and depends on underlying conditions as well as the skills and techniques of the providor.
There are a limited number of clinics that offer this treatment. Dr Juliah Tharani is well qualified in these techniques and her website is www.likhaaesthetic.ie . This therapy will only have a chance of producing results if hair follicles are still present (even if they are dormant) so, if you have shiny bald head Exosomes will not help but if you have a problem with hair thinning, improvement is possible.
