Dry Skin

Dry skin or Xerosis may have an environmental cause,  though certain diseases can significantly affect your skin as well. Potential causes of dry skin include the weather, heat, over-hot baths and showers, harsh cleansers and soaps and of course, over exposure to the sun. Clinical examples include atopic dermatitis (or Eczema) or a skin condition marked by a rapid buildup of rough, dry, dead skin cells that form thick scales, known as Psoriasis.
